SLR expands South East built environment expertise

Global consultancy SLR Consulting has strengthened its South East built environment team with a series of senior appointments to support its continued growth across London and the wider region.

The appointments include Shelley Dix as transport and mobility planning director and London lead; Andrew Munton as planning technical director and London lead; Chris Ellis as principal consultant and London EIA lead; and Colin James as director of masterplanning and urban design.

Shelley joins with more than 26 years of experience in transport and development planning and will lead the growth of SLR’s London transport and mobility planning capability.

She said: “Transport and mobility planning plays a vital role in shaping successful developments, and I’m excited to be joining SLR as we continue to strengthen our transport and mobility planning offering.

“By working closely with colleagues across planning, environmental and sustainability disciplines, we can help clients navigate complex development challenges and deliver places that are accessible, sustainable and commercially successful, while always focusing on what is right for the client.

“This integrated approach is essential across all sectors, ensuring we balance community needs with environmental and commercial considerations.”

Chris brings expertise in environmental impact assessment across major residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic development projects, supporting the expansion of the firm’s EIA offering.

He added: “My experience across major development projects has shown that the best results come from a collaborative cross-team approach.

“At SLR, there is a real opportunity to grow our EIA presence, strengthen client relationships and provide a more complete environmental offering through our integrated approach.

“The calibre of people joining the team and the collaborative culture we’re building create a real springboard for future growth.”

The appointments build on SLR’s investment in its planning and sustainable infrastructure services, following the recent appointment of Xavier Brice as director of planning and sustainable infrastructure.

Peter Leonard, business lead for London, South East and East of England, said: “These appointments represent a significant investment in our London and South-East operations, bringing together a highly experienced team with expertise across transport planning, environmental impact assessment (EIA), masterplanning, urban design and sustainable infrastructure.

“It’s been fantastic to see this new senior group embrace a collaborative culture from day one, offering a first class one-stop built environment consultancy service.

“By working across disciplines to share expertise, strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities, they are helping us deliver more integrated solutions for clients.

“This approach reflects SLR’s wider multidisciplinary model and UK growth strategy, enabling clients to access a broad range of technical services through a single team.”

Peter added: “As demand for multidisciplinary expertise continues to grow across planning and development, our strengthened London and South East team is exceptionally positioned to help clients solve their challenges, from concept through to delivery, both regionally and across the UK.”
