Vineland, New Jersey – Golf icon Tiger Woods recently offered a personal reflection on the grand opening of Trout National, a sprawling luxury golf course in Vineland, New Jersey. The course, a testament to a years-long collaboration with Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout, officially opened its doors on April 15th, marking a significant milestone in Woods’ design portfolio.

Woods, who was undergoing rehabilitation in Zurich during the opening, expressed immense pride in the project’s culmination. “From vision to reality,” he shared, “It has been incredibly rewarding to work alongside @miketrout, John and the Trout National team, together with my @tgr.design team, to bring our shared vision for this special place to life. Proud of what our teams have accomplished together and excited for everyone who gets to experience it.”

The exclusive club, valued at an estimated $100 million, spans over 280 acres, transforming former silica sand mines and surrounding farmland into a golfing paradise. Beyond its meticulously designed greens, Trout National boasts unique amenities such as “The Bullpen,” a reversible six-hole short course illuminated for night play, and “The Dugout,” a baseball-themed amenity station integrated into the landscape behind the 14th and 16th tees, offering members a unique field-level viewing experience. For those seeking extended stays, five cottages and two lodges provide luxurious overnight accommodations, complemented by a helipad for discreet arrivals.

Membership to Trout National remains exceptionally exclusive. Golf Digest reported in November that the club has capped its membership at 227 individuals, with entry strictly by invitation only. Estimated initiation costs range from a hefty $300,000 to $500,000, underscoring the club’s elite status. The vision for this ambitious project originated when Trout and John Ruga identified the quarry land, subsequently engaging Woods’ renowned TGR Design firm to bring their architectural dreams to fruition.

Coinciding with Woods’ commentary on Trout National, TMRW Sports, co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy, announced a significant strategic partnership. Fenway Sports Group (FSG), a global sports giant valued at $14.19 billion, has acquired the fifth ownership group in WTGL, the new women’s team golf league developed in partnership with the LPGA. FSG’s franchise will be known as Boston Common Golf, aligning with its existing men’s TGL team, captained by McIlroy.

This deal marks FSG’s inaugural ownership stake in women’s professional golf, building upon an existing relationship with the LPGA that commenced in 2023 through sponsorship and marketing initiatives. Linda Henry, an FSG partner and CEO of Boston Globe Media, emphasized the company’s commitment to nurturing growth within the sports landscape, stating that they “always believed in investing early in ideas with the potential to grow.”

FSG joins a distinguished roster of four other ownership groups confirmed for WTGL’s inaugural season in late 2026. These include Arthur Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment in Atlanta, Alexis Ohanian in Los Angeles, Steve Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures in New York, and the Hamp family, who are establishing a Detroit franchise. The built-in overlap with men’s TGL teams, each of these groups also owning a team in the established league, is expected to foster synergy and cross-promotion for the nascent women’s league.

Despite his significant business endeavors, Tiger Woods remains focused on his eventual return to competitive golf. His journey has been marked by repeated setbacks, but recent rehabilitation efforts in Switzerland are reportedly yielding positive results, pointing towards a more optimistic trajectory. However, his path to a full return is not without its current challenges. An ongoing court case stemming from his DUI crash in March continues, and his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, is courageously battling breast cancer. These personal complexities undoubtedly add layers to his recovery and preparation.

Until these matters find resolution, Woods’ full concentration on professional play will be understandably divided. Nonetheless, the outlook for the 15-time major winner appears increasingly positive. A potential comeback to the professional circuit in 2027 is now being considered, a prospect that would electrify the golf world and add another chapter to his legendary career.
