Trio arrested for murder after man killed in Manchester

Tributes have been paid to Adrian Brown, who was fatally stabbed in Moss Side

Three more people have been arrested after a dad-of-three was fatally stabbed in Moss Side. Adrian Brown, a 34-year-old musician known as Dre, was stabbed on Raby Street at around 11pm last Friday night (May 8), having earlier attended the West Indian Sports and Social Club.

Emergency services were called out to reports of a serious stabbing. Mr Brown was rushed to hospital with stab wounds to his chest, but tragically later died.

In an update issued this morning, Greater Manchester Police said three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of murdering Mr Brown during raids on two properties this morning (May 14). A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested at a property in Hulme.

Another 18-year-old man was arrested at a property in Chorlton. They remain in custody for questioning. Two men, aged 18 and 26, who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder have since been bailed, pending further enquiries.

Two men, aged 25 and 38, and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have also been bailed pending further investigation.

In a tribute issued earlier this week, Mr Brown’s partner Tamia Zameer said: “R.I.P to my number one, Adrian. I love you always and forever. Me and your boys will cherish every moment that we had. We will miss you so much. Your legacy will forever live on and I will get the justice that you deserve.”

His mother, Jennifer Meade, added: “My son, you did not deserve this. I can’t put into words how I feel. They took my boy. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and he adored being a dad to my grandkids. I will miss you so much. Rest in peace, son. I love you more than you know.”

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson, the senior investigating officer on this case, is appealing for information as his team continue to investigate the murder – including from other people who were in attendance at the West Indian Sports and Social Club last Friday. He said: “Adrian was at the West Indian Sports and Social Club in Moss Side on Friday, May 8. Shortly after 11pm, he was attacked and suffered fatal stab wounds.

“There were around 200 people at the club that night, and we believe some of those present may have information that could help us piece together exactly what happened. This may include eyewitness accounts, as well as photos or videos taken throughout the evening.

“We understand that coming forward can feel daunting, but any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital to our investigation.
