Vishwanath And Sons Full Movie Collection: 'Vishwanath and Sons' box office collections day 10 vs 'DC': Suriya starrer crosses Rs 100 crore India net | Tamil Movie News

Box Office Report: ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ Hits Rs 100 Crore Milestone; ‘DC’ Records Dip

The Indian box office has seen a significant shift in momentum this weekend as the Suriya and Mamitha Baiju-starrer ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ successfully raced past the prestigious Rs 100 crore mark in India net collections. While the film continues to enjoy a steady climb during its second weekend, the Lokesh Kanagaraj-starrer ‘DC’ is beginning to see a decline as it enters its third week of release.

‘Vishwanath and Sons’ Crosses the Century Mark

Cementing its status as a commercial success, ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ saw a robust performance on its 10th day. According to data from Sacnilk, the film raked in an estimated Rs 7.30 crore in India net on Sunday across 4,391 shows. This figure represents a marginal but steady 0.7% growth from its Day 9 earnings of Rs 7.25 crore.

The film has now accumulated a total India net collection of Rs 100.65 crore. With an additional Rs 53.25 crore from overseas markets, the global footprint of the film has reached an impressive Rs 169.67 crore.

Audience interest remains high, particularly in the Telugu-speaking markets, where the film registered a strong 56.50% overall occupancy on Day 10, peaking at 65% during evening screenings. The Tamil version also held its own with a 45.50% overall occupancy. Geographically, Tamil Nadu and the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana regions remain the film’s biggest contributors, bringing in Rs 3.50 crore and Rs 3.40 crore, respectively, on Day 10 alone.

‘DC’ Faces a Slowdown

In contrast to the rising trajectory of the Suriya-starrer, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘DC’ witnessed a 13% drop in earnings on its third Sunday. The film, which also features Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, collected Rs 1.41 crore in India net on Day 17, compared to the Rs 1.62 crore it secured on Day 16.

To date, ‘DC’ has collected Rs 65.62 crore in India net, with a worldwide gross now standing at Rs 97.52 crore. The film, which marks director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut, has maintained a moderate occupancy of roughly 39% for its Tamil version, with the Telugu version trailing slightly at 31.68%.

A Competitive Weekend

The current box office narrative highlights a clear divergence in the journeys of the two films. ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ has demonstrated remarkable resilience, moving from Rs 4.50 crore on its second Friday to a sustained performance above the Rs 7 crore mark throughout the weekend.

Meanwhile, ‘DC’—a gritty tale following an outlaw and a quest for revenge—is entering a consolidation phase. Despite the slight dip, industry experts note that the film has performed reasonably well for a project of its scale.
