An earthquake hit parts of Wales and England yesterday with people reporting that they felt shaking. The earthquake magnitude was 2.7, hitting the UK in the morning of Tuesday, May 12 at 8.33am, according to Earthquake monitoring site Volcano Discovery.
The quake had a very shallow depth of 5km and was felt by some people near the epicentre in Powys. Very weak shaking could be felt in multiple areas of Powys as well as in Shropshire and Herefordshire.
One person in Llandrindod Wells said they felt a “boom that shook the house, then continued diminishing deep rumbling for 10 seconds.”
