Over in Kirklees, it was triple trouble for party leaders on the council.
John Lawson, who led the Lib Dems, lost his seat in Cleckheaton after 16 years. He vows he will “absolutely” be back.
David Hall, who led the Conservatives, was also defeated in Liversedge & Gomersal, having first been elected in 2004.
It comes after Labour group leader on Kirklees Council, Carole Pattison, lost her seat earlier.
