Maharashtra Students Embark on Inspiring Journey to ISRO’s Spaceport
SRIHARIKOTA, INDIA – Forty-three bright young minds from various childcare institutions across Maharashtra recently embarked on an extraordinary educational journey to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) centre in Sriharikota. Organized by the ‘Care For You’ Foundation, this meticulously planned visit offered students an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of space exploration, advanced technology, and cutting-edge research activities.
Accompanied by 30 dedicated volunteers, the contingent was led by the foundation’s Chief Adviser and Additional Director General of Police (Training and Special Units), Maharashtra, Krishna Prakash, and founder CA Payal Rathi. The visit aimed to ignite curiosity, inspire future innovators, and provide a tangible understanding of India’s remarkable achievements in space science.
A highlight of the trip involved direct interaction with senior ISRO officials and scientists. These sessions provided invaluable insights into the stringent discipline, unwavering precision, sophisticated technical skills, and profound dedication that underpin every successful space mission. Students were able to ask probing questions and gain a deeper appreciation for the rigorous work involved in launching satellites and probes into orbit.
The educational tour included exclusive access to the first and second launch pads at Sriharikota, as well as the critical control room. Witnessing these advanced facilities firsthand, where India’s pivotal space missions are meticulously prepared and executed, left a lasting impression on the young visitors. They received detailed explanations about the complex operations and technological marvels that power the nation’s space endeavors.
Further enhancing the experience, the students had the distinct privilege of an online interaction with ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan from Bengaluru. Despite his demanding schedule, Mr. Narayanan generously dedicated his time to address the students’ queries, offering words of encouragement and guidance. His thoughtful responses undoubtedly fueled their aspirations and provided a rare glimpse into the mind of a leader in space research.
Adding to the rich learning experience, ISRO Director Mr. Shukla and official N. Kumar also engaged with the students.
