Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has publicly addressed the recent allegations and pointed criticisms leveled against him by his wife, Sunita Ahuja. In a measured yet resolute video message shared on Saturday, the actor meticulously defended his professional choices and character, directly countering Sunita’s public statements. These remarks from Govinda follow widespread media attention generated when he was spotted at the airport with Komal Rani Swarnkar, an actress with whom he has been rumored to be involved.
Within the video, Govinda explicitly accused Sunita of unwarranted interference in his professional life, while also highlighting instances where she had previously sought his involvement in her own projects. He stated, “I don’t do the work that I get from outside. And what I am doing, you are interfering in it. And when you were doing your work, whether it was a food show or a Lock Upp, you asked me to appear in both the shows through our daughter Tina.” He continued, acknowledging her right to seek his help in the past, saying, “Aapne meri seva lee, khair, woh aapka haq hai (That is your right).” However, he then sharply criticized her current actions, asserting, “And now that I have started this film, you are not leaving any chance for me to get out of people’s hearts, to be defamed, or to lose my business.” Govinda passionately appealed for empathy, particularly for individuals from humble backgrounds striving in the film industry. He emphasized, “When people from poor families come to the film industry, don’t humiliate them so much that they run away, they get scared. You have the ability, you have the strength, fame, respect, wealth, everything is given by God. It doesn’t mean that you should humiliate those who don’t have it. It doesn’t suit you.”
Furthermore, Govinda directly confronted the age difference comments circulating between him and Komal Rani, which Sunita had previously used to fuel speculation about an affair. He vigorously defended his decision to collaborate with younger actresses, referencing a long-standing tradition within the film industry. “And you spoke about the age difference, so let me remind you again for your information, all the great artistes of the country have worked with all those girls who were youngsters. They got good films, fame and respect. And they got a chance to work with young people. That’s why this young man was seen. You don’t want me to look like a young man. In your small expectations, you are busy harming a business,” he elaborated, highlighting the industry’s embrace of intergenerational collaborations.

And I think that familiarity will come forward a lot. So it won’t suit you either. And I think that in the future too, you will need me somewhere, at some point. So please don’t give such statements. The podcasts that are being run and the insults that are being done, please stay within your limits. This is my request to you,” he concluded, suggesting that he is aware of a larger coordinated effort against him.

She reportedly referred to him as Komal’s “sugar daddy” after he was seen with the actress, a woman she had previously accused of being involved in an affair with him. Sunita also publicly questioned the 62-year-old actor’s judgment in being seen with a woman close to their daughter’s age, and she even reportedly made disparaging comments about Komal’s appearance and clothing.
