However, 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi proved he possesses the tactical acumen of a veteran on Sunday, leading East Zone with remarkable composure during their clash against Central Zone.

The defining moment of the opening day occurred in the 40th over. With Central Zone’s Aryan Juyal well-set on 46, he attempted a push against a delivery from pacer Mukesh Kumar outside the off-stump. While the East Zone fielders were convinced of an edge, the on-field umpire remained unmoved.

Reflecting on a previous bowling stint where Kishan had handed him the ball as a tactical gamble, he added with youthful confidence: “The opponent’s wickets weren’t falling, so I was asked to bowl. Ishan Bhaiya felt like he was taking a risk, but he didn’t know that I am a wicket-taker.”
