Dollywood Unveils New Vision to Honor the Lasting Legacy of Dolly Parton
PIGEON FORGE, TN — The management of Dollywood, the iconic Tennessee theme park, has announced a series of significant new installations and upgrades designed to preserve and celebrate the enduring spirit of its founder, Dolly Parton.
Following the passing of the legendary country music icon on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80, the park’s leadership has pledged to ensure that the “9 to 5” singer’s vision remains at the heart of the guest experience. Eugene Naughton, president of Dollywood, emphasized that these developments are the result of extensive conversations held with the star during her lifetime.
“Many of us had extensive conversations with Dolly through the years about how she would want us to carry her vision forward,” Naughton stated in a recent press release. “We will carry her dreams forward by continuing to grow, welcoming even more guests, and sharing the warmth and hospitality of which she was so proud.”
Celebrating a Multifaceted Life
The upcoming enhancements serve as a tribute to both the park’s roots and Parton’s personal values. Among the most anticipated additions is a new stained-glass window for the park’s chapel, which will depict the seasonal beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. The artwork will feature one of Parton’s favorite Bible verses: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
In addition to the spiritual tribute, the park will install a new cascading waterfall, adding to the serene atmosphere that defines the Pigeon Forge destination.
Honoring Literacy and Connection
Parton’s lifelong commitment to education and literacy will be honored through the introduction of a new park character known as the “Dream Maker.” Inspired by her globally recognized ‘Imagination Library’ program, the character is designed to encourage visitors—particularly children—to “dream big, believe in themselves, and lift others through courage and kindness.”
Furthermore, the popular “Dolly Parton Experience” will undergo an upgrade, featuring a new, immersive “portal” entrance to welcome guests into the exhibit. Management also plans to install interactive kiosks throughout the park, providing fans with a dedicated space to share stories about how Parton’s music and humanitarian efforts impacted their lives.

The changes come as the world continues to mourn the loss of the music icon. Parton passed away at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville following a private battle with illness. Her nephew and head of security, Bryan Seaver, confirmed the news via a heartfelt video statement released on her official social media platforms last year.
