Agoria calls for more supportive regulatory environment for telecom investment
Investment in the telecom sector in Belgium is under pressure from a complex, fragmented regulatory environment, according to a report from the tech industry association Agoria. Complex permitting processes, a high tax burden and a steady stream of new regulations are holding back investment in telecom infrastructure, the group warned. Obtaining a permit in Belgium takes at least three months, compared to less than three weeks in the Netherlands and 4-6 weeks in France.
