Agreement aims to tackle scourge that kills tens of thousands of South Africans every year
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) have signed an agreement to close the gap between environmental policy and public health evidence on air pollution.
Under the agreement, announced on 6 July, the two bodies will collaborate on research, health impact assessments, air quality monitoring, data sharing and public awareness campaigns.
