A woman has been killed and a man taken to hospital following a double stabbing in west London.

The 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Uxbridge Road in Hayes this morning.

Emergency services were called at around 7.55am today, and also found a man in his twenties outside with stab wounds.

The Met said they ‘quickly’ found a 44-year-old man nearby who matched the description of the suspect.

He had injuries ‘believed to be caused after jumping from a window’ and was taken to hospital.

Mother-of-two Jax Porter, 41, told Metro: ‘It’s very, very scary as my youngest’s bedroom overlooks exactly where this happened.

‘My son told me there was a load of shouting and someone tapping his bedroom window at about 4.30, possibly at 5 this morning, but he didn’t think more of it.

‘There was a lot of shouting and screams, and then the helicopter was flying over.’

She added: ‘I don’t know if the woman lived locally, but my heart is fully breaking. If I had woken up just a little sooner, I could’ve done something.

‘My daughter may have to switch rooms with me as her room overlooks the Uxbridge Road, and my eldest is as nervous with all this.

‘It is far too close to home we don’t feel safe round here now.’

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a knife in a public place.

Local MP John McDonnell said the murder was a ‘terrible tragedy in our community’.
