Delhi University Releases Vacant Seat List for CSAS UG 2026 Spot Round 1; Deadline Approaches
The University of Delhi (DU) has officially released the list of vacant seats for the first Spot Round of its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for Undergraduate (UG) admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Prospective students who have not yet secured admission in any of the university’s affiliated colleges are eligible to participate in this round.
Candidates interested in the DU CSAS UG 2026 process must submit their applications through their individual dashboards on the official admission portal, admission.uod.ac.in, no later than 11:59 PM on August 24, 2026.
Overview of Vacant Seats
As of August 23, 2026, the university has reported 13,433 vacant seats across 67 participating colleges. However, university officials have cautioned that these figures are subject to change due to ongoing processes such as reconciliations, withdrawals, cancellations, and the redressal of student grievances.
The category-wise breakdown of the currently available seats is as follows:
- Unreserved (UR): 2,113 seats
- OBC-NCL: 4,133 seats
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 2,038 seats
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 2,476 seats
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 1,791 seats
- Minority Quotas: 316 seats for Christian applicants and 566 seats for Sikh applicants.
The university noted that while the current data reflects the position as of 1:00 PM on August 23, the actual numbers may fluctuate. Furthermore, it has been clarified that withdrawals from previously allocated seats will remain suspended for the duration of the Spot Round.
Eligibility and Mandatory Rules
Participation in the Spot Round is strictly limited to registered CSAS (UG) applicants who do not currently hold an admission as of August 22, 2026. Eligible candidates must proactively opt for "Spot Admission" via their portal dashboard and select only those program and college combinations where seats are available for their specific category.
Students should exercise extreme caution when applying, as admission to a seat allotted during the Spot Round is mandatory. The university has explicitly stated that candidates will not have the option to "upgrade" or "withdraw" once a seat is allocated. Failure to accept an allotted seat in this round will result in the candidate losing their eligibility for any future admission rounds at the university.
How to Access the Vacant Seat List
To review the available options before submitting preferences, candidates are advised to follow these steps:
