Flutter Stays Course in India with New Leadership at Hyderabad Tech Hub

Hyderabad, India – Despite a past withdrawal from the real-money gaming market, Flutter Entertainment, the NYSE-listed global gambling giant, continues to demonstrate its significant commitment to India. The company has announced the appointment of Seema Padman as the new General Manager for its thriving Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, signaling a renewed focus on leveraging the region’s technological prowess for its global operations.

Flutter’s decision to maintain a substantial presence in India comes after it was compelled to withdraw its Junglee division in 2025 following a government clampdown on real-money games. However, this regulatory shift did not deter the company from its strategic investment in a state-of-the-art IT hub. Established in 2024, the $3.5 million facility in Hyderabad has been instrumental in supporting Flutter’s worldwide operations, serving as a critical nerve center for its technological advancements.

The Hyderabad GCC, which remains fully operational, is now poised for its next phase of growth under Padman’s leadership. Having joined the GCC as a People Leader at its inception in 2024, Padman has been a pivotal figure in its rapid expansion. She played a crucial role in scaling the hub’s workforce to over 1,000 employees, actively contributing to resource management strategies and identifying high-priority targets that have propelled the centre’s success.

In her new capacity, Padman will be tasked with continuing to collaborate closely with Flutter’s senior leadership to enhance service delivery for the company’s diverse portfolio of brands. A key aspect of her role will also be to cultivate a high-performance culture within the GCC, fostering an environment where innovation and efficiency can flourish. Furthermore, Padman will intensify her contributions to "Flutter Edge," the Group’s integrated strategy encompassing technology, product development, talent acquisition, and global scalability, all designed to secure a significant competitive advantage in the international market.

Padman brings over two decades of extensive experience across a variety of sectors, including technology, pharmaceuticals, and retail, to her new role. Prior to joining Flutter India, she held the position of Senior Vice President of HR for multiple international markets at Epsilon, a global marketing solutions company. Her professional journey also includes valuable experience at AstraZeneca, a leading pharmaceutical company. Academically, Padman holds a Master’s degree in Personnel Management and an MBA from the prestigious Cranfield School of Management.

Commenting on her new leadership role, Seema Padman expressed her enthusiasm: "I’ve seen first-hand the depth of talent, capability and ambition within the Hyderabad GCC. I’m looking forward to bringing those strengths together and working with our leaders to create an environment where both our people and our business can thrive. I’m excited about the opportunity ahead, and about the contribution Hyderabad can make to Flutter’s global organisation."

Padman’s appointment underscores Flutter’s enduring commitment to India as a strategic hub for talent and technological innovation, cementing its presence in the region despite past regulatory hurdles and looking forward to a future of sustained growth and contribution to its global enterprise.
