‘Hanuman Ansh’ Director Hopes for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s Endorsement After Sehwag’s Heartwarming Praise

The low-budget cinematic production Hanuman Ansh, a film deeply inspired by the spiritual teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, is carving out a unique space for itself in the hearts of audiences. While the film continues to garner positive traction, it has recently moved into the spotlight for a different reason: the profound, organic connection it has fostered with Indian cricket legend Virender Sehwag.

For the film’s writer-director, Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, the praise from the former cricketer was not just a professional milestone but a deeply personal, “full circle” moment. Chaturvedi, a self-confessed cricket aficionado, revealed that his passion for the sport was so tethered to Sehwag that he essentially stopped following the game the moment the iconic opener announced his retirement.

A Surprise Endorsement

The narrative of the filmmaker’s admiration turned into a surreal reality when Sehwag independently decided to watch the film alongside his child. There was no PR campaign or outreach involved; the former cricketer sought out the movie on his own merit.

“I have always been a huge cricket fan. The day Virender Sehwag retired, I stopped watching cricket,” Chaturvedi shared in an interview with NDTV. “And that man, without us even saying anything to him, went and watched the film on his own with his child. What he wrote and said after watching the film made me feel as though life had come full circle. It was so heart-warming.”

Expanding the Circle

Inspired by the emotional resonance of Sehwag’s support, Dr. Chaturvedi is now setting his sights on reaching another power couple from the world of cricket and cinema: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma.

The filmmaker has openly expressed his desire for the pair to experience the spiritual narrative of the film. “I want Virat and Anushka to watch the film as well, if something along those lines can be arranged,” Chaturvedi noted, emphasizing that their interest would be a significant milestone for his team.

As the Hanuman Ansh continues to gain momentum, it serves as a testament to how independent, content-driven cinema can bridge the gap between spiritual storytelling and high-profile public figures. For Chaturvedi, the journey of the film has become more than just box office numbers—it has become a bridge to his own personal heroes.
