IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Goa Following Engine Failure

GOA – An IndiGo flight traveling from Goa to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency return to its point of origin on Wednesday following a mid-air engine failure.

The aircraft, operating as flight 6E2102, departed from Manohar International Airport (MOPA) in Goa with Delhi as its intended destination. However, shortly after takeoff, pilots reported technical complications involving one of the plane’s engines.

In accordance with standard safety protocols, the flight crew declared an emergency and requested an immediate return to the departure airport. Aviation authorities confirmed that the flight landed safely back at Manohar International Airport at approximately 11:45 a.m. local time.

Emergency services were on standby at the airport as a precautionary measure, though all passengers and crew members reportedly disembarked the aircraft without incident.

Ground crews have since taken charge of the aircraft to conduct a thorough technical inspection. An investigation into the root cause of the engine failure is currently underway.

This incident marks a concerning development for the airline, following a separate recent event where an IndiGo flight at Gorakhpur Airport performed a precautionary “go-around” after ground personnel discovered scratches near the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) inlet.

As the airline works to accommodate affected passengers on alternate flights, aviation experts suggest that further scrutiny of the carrier’s fleet maintenance may be required.
