According to data from Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ garnered a substantial Rs 2.35 crore net in India on Saturday. This remarkable figure is a direct contrast to its third Friday’s collection, which stood at Rs 1 crore net, underscoring the film’s strong weekend resurgence.
‘Jana Nayagan’ Sees Strong Saturday Growth
The film’s Day 17 performance has provided a much-needed boost after a relatively subdued Friday. Following a collection of Rs 1 crore on Day 16, Saturday’s earnings more than doubled the previous day’s figure. ‘Jana Nayagan’ was screened across an extensive 2,087 shows on Day 17, catering to a growing audience.
Occupancy rates further highlight the film’s renewed appeal. The overall occupancy for the Tamil version reached 40.74%. Morning shows commenced with 23.42% occupancy, which steadily climbed to 40.42% in the afternoon. With its strong weekend performance, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has now accumulated a total India net collection of Rs 188.50 crore. Its cumulative India gross collection stands at Rs 219.71 crore. The film had an exceptional first week, raking in Rs 153.55 crore, followed by a steady second week that added Rs 31.60 crore to the domestic net total. The third week commenced with Rs 1.60 crore on Thursday, followed by Rs 1 crore on Friday, before witnessing the significant jump on Saturday.
Overseas Collection Takes Worldwide Total Higher
Beyond domestic shores, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has maintained a robust presence in international markets. On Day 17, the film added an additional Rs 25 lakhs to its overseas gross, elevating its total overseas gross collection to an impressive Rs 93.15 crore.
Combining the domestic India gross of Rs 219.71 crore with the substantial overseas gross, the film’s global collection has now surpassed a significant milestone, reaching a grand total of Rs 312.86 crore worldwide.
