Cryptic Social Media Post Adds New Layer to Tragic Maharashtra Cliffside Deaths
CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A heart-wrenching tragedy that claimed three lives in Maharashtra has taken a chilling turn as investigators uncover a cryptic social media post left by the mother of an 18-year-old who fell to his death.
The incident occurred at a 250-foot-deep cliff in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where 18-year-old Kunal Chandgude had been threatening to jump. Distraught footage captured the moment his parents, Murlidhar and Sangeeta, spent hours pleading with their son to step away from the precipice. In a desperate final attempt to save him, Murlidhar grabbed his son’s hand, but both lost their footing and plunged into the gorge below. Overcome by grief and shock, Sangeeta immediately jumped after them, falling to her death.
While initial reports suggested that the primary trigger for the teenager’s actions was his inability to pay off EMIs for a newly purchased iPhone, authorities are now examining deeper domestic tensions within the household.
Police sources revealed that this was not Kunal’s first attempt to take his own life at the same location; he had reportedly made a similar attempt a year prior. Further investigation into the family’s background has unveiled a long-standing history of internal discord, exacerbated by the death of the couple’s elder son six years ago due to an illness.
The inquiry has now centered on a haunting social media post made by Sangeeta, which hints at bitter property disputes and external interference. The message read: “You took away my and my son’s rights, all over property. You never allowed brothers and parents to be together. You ruined my happy family. You poisoned my family… You separated my son from his parents. Your next seven generations will suffer. This is my curse.”
While Sangeeta did not name any individuals in her post, the vitriol contained within the message has become a focal point for the police as they work to identify if any external actors contributed to the family’s downward spiral.
Family dynamics had reportedly been deteriorating for years. According to sources, the conflict led Murlidhar to distance himself from his home, often spending months away for work. The tension reached a breaking point just two days before the tragedy, when Murlidhar returned home after a three-month absence.
Police continue to investigate the veracity of the claims made in the mother’s final post, hoping to piece together the events that led to the devastating end of the Chandgude family.
