The body of a missing man has been recovered from a popular lake. Police and underwater search teams had been searching at Llyn Geirionydd in the Eryri National Park, after the alarm was raised on Sunday evening, July 19.
Emergency services were called to the Eryri lake at approximately 7.10pm after concerns were reported. A helicopter had been seen circling the area in recent days, with dive teams also involved in the search

On Wednesday, North Wales Police said a body had been recovered from the lake by search teams. Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of the missing man has been informed, the force said.
A file has also been prepared for the coroner.
A police spokesman said: “Officers and colleagues from the Underwater Search Team searching in the Llyn Geirionydd area have sadly recovered the body of a man.
“Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, the missing man’s family have been informed, as has the Coroner.
“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
Earlier this month, the body of a 21-year-old man was recovered from the lake, which is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts. Llyn Geirionydd draws kayakers to its waters and holds the distinction of being the only lake within Eryri National Park where speedboats are permitted.
