Admission and Verification Timelines Extended:

The revised admission schedule sets August 31, 2026, as the final date for candidates to join their allotted institutions for Round 1. For All India Quota, Deemed, and Central Universities, the Round 1 admission period spans from August 4 to August 21, 2026, with the joining deadline remaining August 31.

For state counselling, the Round 1 admission schedule also runs from August 4 to August 21, 2026. State DMEs and State Counselling Authorities are slated to verify the data of joined candidates from August 13 to August 27, 2026. The MCC’s verification of joined candidates’ data is scheduled for September 1, 2026, followed by verification by state authorities on September 6, 2026.

Working Weekends and Holidays Mandated for Efficient Counselling:

In a crucial directive to ensure adherence to the compressed timeline, the MCC has instructed all participating institutes and colleges to treat Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Holidays as working days throughout the counselling process. This measure underscores the committee’s commitment to completing the counselling efficiently within the available limited period.

Furthermore, the notice specifies that data on joined candidates will be shared by DMEs and State Counselling Authorities with the MCC for weeding out during the seat processing of Round 3. This proactive step aims to prevent discrepancies and ensure a fair and transparent allocation process in subsequent rounds.

Students and parents are advised to regularly check the official MCC website and stay updated with any further announcements regarding the NEET UG Counselling 2026. The revised schedule highlights the dynamic nature of the counselling process and the importance of timely adherence to all stipulated deadlines.
