New Island Pacific Market moving ahead for Glassell Park
Glassell Park — Development is moving along for the new Island Pacific Market on Eagle Rock Boulevard. A permit has been issued for remodeling the former Rite Aid into a new supermarket with a dine in restaurant, and a reader writes in to say they have seen construction on the site. Permits have also been approved for 4044 Eagle Rock Blvd. to demolish non-bearing walls, upgrade the electrical system, install a new fire alarm panel, and go ahead with other technical improvements. A notice posted on the window said a lease had been signed between the landlord and market’s owners. But attempts to reach the Island Pacific Market corporate office for further comment have not gotten a response.
Chamber of Commerce seeks new board members
Silver Lake— The Silver Lake Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for upcoming board vacancies. Applicants must have been chamber members for at least one year and attended at least two chamber events within the past year. Board members serve a one-year term and participate in monthly meetings, event planning, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, member recruitment, fundraising and administrative duties.
