The anticipation surrounding director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana continues to build, with fresh reports shedding light on another key casting choice. As the production gathers momentum, rumors have surfaced regarding the role of Rajiv Kumar, who is reportedly set to join the star-studded ensemble.
According to online reports, Kumar is poised to portray the iconic character of Raja Janak, the noble king of Mithila and father to Sita, who is being portrayed by Sai Pallavi. While official confirmation is pending, these reports have ignited significant interest among fans of the epic.

The role has been famously inhabited by stalwarts such as Mulraj Rajda in Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 Ramayan, Pradeep Sharma, Gyan Prakash, Bijay Anand, and most recently, Jiten Lalwani in the 2024 series Shrimad Ramayan.

With a staggering budget reportedly reaching ₹4,000 crore, the film aims to deliver a two-part, grand-scale spectacle. The first installment is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, with an international premiere slated for November 6, followed by its domestic release in India on November 8.
