A free family fun day, celebrating the environment, will take place on Friday 7 August in Sutton-on-Sea – including a large, inflatable whale.
The ‘Whale of a Day’ event returns for the third year running, supported by Arts Council England and the East Lindsey Investment Fund (ELIF).
The whale measures 50 feet and will be on the beach at Sutton-on-Sea, between 10.30am and 4pm on 7 August.
Visitors can learn about the environment and protecting our seas during the free event, with free slots to go inside the inflatable whale bookable online via Eventbrite. The Seaview Colonnade will also be offering craft events on the day.
‘Whale of a Day’ is part of the Story Tellers project, the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership’s Arts Council England NPO project, which supports the arts, heritage and creativity.
Councillor Graham Marsh, East Lindsey District Council’s representative on the Story Tellers Culture Board, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to learn more about our seas and ocean’s environment and ways to help protect our planet.
“I hope as many people as possible come along to enjoy this free family day at Sutton-on-Sea.”
