Yash, one of the most prominent figures in Kannada cinema, boasts an impressive online presence, commanding a following of over 14 million on Instagram alone. Despite this colossal audience, his personal following list on the platform remains remarkably concise. Intriguingly, among the select few he chooses to follow is his wife, Radhika Pandit. Their journey together began in 2007 on the sets of the television show ‘Nanda Gokula’, where a friendship gradually blossomed into a romantic relationship. The couple meticulously guarded their romance from public scrutiny for several years, eventually announcing their engagement in Goa in 2016. Later that same year, they exchanged vows, and their family grew with the arrival of their first child in 2018, followed by their second in 2019.
The upcoming film, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups’, has recently brought Yash and Radhika Pandit’s relationship into the spotlight. During an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, Yash openly discussed his wife’s reaction to the intimate scenes featured in the movie, particularly those in the song ‘Tabaahi’ which showcases moments between him and co-star Kiara Advani. He candidly admitted that such scenes might not be entirely comfortable for Radhika. However, he emphasized that this discomfort does not undermine the profound trust that forms the bedrock of their marriage. Yash elaborated that stepping out of his personal comfort zone was a necessary artistic decision dictated by the film’s narrative. He acknowledged that while Radhika might not be “happy” about these scenes, she isn’t “upset” because she understands the professional nature of his work. As an accomplished actor herself, Radhika comprehends that his on-screen persona is distinct from her husband in real life.
Yash further articulated that a degree of discomfort is a natural and understandable reaction for any partner witnessing intimate scenes. He chose not to disingenuously deny this common human sentiment. Nevertheless, he passionately underscored that such portrayals are an integral part of the craft, an art form through which they aim to achieve something truly meaningful. He believes that some narratives are so crucial, so impactful, that they must be recorded for future generations to observe and learn from, and he views the story of ‘Toxic’ as one such important endeavor.
‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups’ is helmed by director Geetu Mohandas and features Yash in a compelling dual role. The star-studded cast also includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. This eagerly anticipated action film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
