Literary Excellence Celebrated: Valley of Words Book Awards 2026 Announces Winners
The literary landscape has a new set of benchmarks as the prestigious Valley of Words Book Awards 2026 officially unveiled its winners across eight diverse categories. The announcement, which follows a rigorous selection process, celebrates the depth and variety of contemporary writing in both English and Hindi.
For each of the eight categories, organizers navigated through highly competitive shortlists, each featuring five exemplary titles, before arriving at the final selections. The winning authors and translators will be honored during the upcoming Valley of Words Literature and Arts Festival, set to take place in Dehradun on November 28 and 29. Each winner will be presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

- Nonfiction: Chandan Kiwad by noted musician Malini Awasthi
- Fiction: Trimaya by Manisha Kulshrestha
- Translation: Orbital by Samantha Harvey (translated from English by Rohini)
Writing for Younger Readers:
- Young Adult: Giants by Huthuka Sumi
- Children’s Literature: The Night Sky by Samina Mishra
