Virat Kohli takes the field once again as India face England in the third ODI at Lord’s on Sunday.
Kohli had sat out India’s series against Afghanistan after picking up a right hamstring injury during the IPL final. That absence came despite him being in sensational touch throughout the tournament, having struck six half-centuries across his final seven innings and finishing the season with 675 runs from 16 matches.

In the previous ODI in Cardiff, Kohli walked out to bat soon after Shubman Gill’s early dismissal, and this time he made his presence count.
He first combined well with Rohit Sharma before stitching together another useful partnership with Shreyas Iyer, gradually edging closer to what could have been his 86th international hundred.
However, the milestone slipped away as he fell for 65 off 66 balls, finishing 35 runs short of the century. With Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 100 international centuries still very much within reach, Kohli will be looking to continue building on his fine start in Cardiff as the series moves toward its decisive finish.
