Maharashtra’s B.Architecture Admissions: Second List Unveils New Opportunities and Preferred Placements
MUMBAI, India – The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has released its highly anticipated second merit list for centralized admissions to the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Architecture) program for the academic year 2026-27. This crucial announcement offers admission opportunities to 728 new students across the state, while a significant 893 candidates have successfully secured their preferred colleges among their top three choices.
The second round of allotments saw 2,007 candidates expressing their preferences, with 728 receiving fresh admission offers. Of particular note are the 893 students whose allotments are marked "Auto Freeze." This designation signifies that these students have been allocated one of their first three preferred colleges, making admission to the allotted institution compulsory. Declining an "Auto Freeze" seat will preclude these students from participating in the third or fourth centralized admission rounds. Their next opportunity for admission would then be the institutional round, which occurs after the completion of the centralized process.
This latest development follows the first round of admissions, where 1,183 students confirmed their seats by completing the admission process at their allotted colleges. Additionally, 970 students from the initial list opted for "betterment," hoping to secure a more favorable college allocation in subsequent rounds. The second list now significantly expands the pool of students with confirmed admission opportunities.
The window for students allotted colleges in this second round to complete their admissions is from August 18, 2026, to August 20, 2026. During this period, students are required to report in person to their allotted institutions, submit all necessary documents, and pay the prescribed fees to finalize their admission. Adherence to this deadline is critical for all students who received an allocation in the second list.
Looking ahead, the CET Cell will publish the provisional list of vacant seats for the third admission round on August 21, 2026. This announcement will provide crucial information for students who have not yet secured a seat or are seeking to improve their current allotment, allowing them to prepare for the next stage of the centralized process.
The Maharashtra CET Cell, a key body under the Maharashtra government, released this notice through its public relations office in Mumbai, underscoring its commitment to a transparent and structured admission process for aspiring architects in the state.
