SHAMLI, UTTAR PRADESH – The Haryanvi music industry and the local community in Shamli are in a state of shock following the cold-blooded murder of popular singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan. The artist was gunned down by unidentified assailants outside a gym on Wednesday evening, marking a tragic end to his rising career.

The Attack

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Shamli Kotwali police station. Witnesses reported that as Balyan exited the gym, gunmen emerged and opened fire without warning. The singer sustained critical bullet wounds and collapsed at the scene. Despite a swift response from local police, who rushed him to a nearby hospital, medical professionals declared him dead upon arrival.

The timing of the attack has added a chilling layer to the case: in an eerie coincidence, Balyan had shared a video on his Instagram profile just two hours before his death, in which he was heard saying, “Murder maar de sadak ke upar” (Murder happens right on the street).

Beyond his musical contributions, which included collaborations with prominent Haryanvi artists like Masoom Sharma and the late Raju Punjabi, Balyan was increasingly active in the public sphere. He frequently utilized his platform for political commentary and vlogs, and according to local reports, he was actively preparing to contest the upcoming District Panchayat elections.
