'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' box office collection day 17: Tom Holland starrer sees BIG jump on third Saturday, still lags behind MASSIVE 'Awarapan 2' earnings

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” featuring Tom Holland, continues its impressive run at the Indian box office, now well into its third week. Despite facing new competition, the Marvel-Sony collaboration has demonstrated remarkable resilience. While its collections saw a noticeable dip on its third Friday and Saturday, coinciding with the debut of Emraan Hashmi’s “Awarapan 2,” the superhero film staged a significant comeback on its 17th day of release in India.

According to the latest Sacnilk report, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” garnered a substantial ₹10.15 crore on its 17th day, benefiting from widespread screenings across 3,263 shows throughout India. This figure represents an astounding 160.3% increase compared to the previous day’s earnings, highlighting a strong weekend surge.

With these recent additions, the film’s total net collection in India has reached an impressive ₹457.45 crore. Its gross collection in India has climbed even higher, touching ₹546.92 crore. To provide context, the movie accumulated ₹334.75 crore in its inaugural week and added another ₹108.65 crore in its second week. Should this positive trend persist, industry analysts anticipate that “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” could very well surpass the ₹550 crore mark by the end of the current week.

The release of “Awarapan 2” introduced a new dynamic to the box office landscape. On its second day, which directly clashed with “Spider-Man’s” 17th day, “Awarapan 2” managed to collect a notable ₹33 crore. Emraan Hashmi’s reprisal of his role as Shivam Pandit in the sequel evidently resonated with audiences, posing a considerable challenge to the established dominance of “Spider-Man.”

Notwithstanding the competitive pressures, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” remains an undeniable commercial success, having already exceeded a net collection of ₹457 crore in India. The film has solidified its position as the highest-grossing Hollywood movie ever released in the country, surpassing the previous records held by cinematic giants like “Avatar” and “Avengers” to cross the monumental ₹500 crore milestone. If the film can maintain its momentum and deliver a robust third weekend performance, there is a strong possibility that its lifetime collections could even extend beyond the ₹600 crore mark, further cementing its place in Indian box office history.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” boasts an ensemble cast featuring Tom Holland as the iconic Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside talented actors such as Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Marisa Tomei, and Mark Ruffalo. The film premiered in India on July 30, 2026, a day ahead of its worldwide release, a strategic move that appears to have significantly contributed to its outstanding performance in the Indian market.
