The Met Office has issued two thunderstorm warnings for the next 24 hours
Another yellow weather warning for thunderstorms was issued today
- Two yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms will be in place across Somerset in the next 24 hours. The first warning begins at 6pm and lasts until the end of the day, whilst the second weather warning is in place from 12am until 10am. Not all areas will be affected but those that are will be hoping not to see a repeat of the flash flooding that swamped some places earlier this week.
- Temperatures in Bath will rise to 37 degrees at 4pm but it is scheduled to rain by midnight. There are no storms forecasted.
- Wells will hit temperatures of 37 degrees at around 3pm before rain is set for around 8pm. No storms are forecasted.
- Bridgwater is set to reach a high of 38 degrees at around 3pm before thunderstorms are forecasted for tonight. Rain is set to begin at around 8pm and thunderstorms are likely between 12am and 2am.
- Taunton will reach 37 degrees at around 2pm, which will last until 4pm, but will see rain at 7pm and thunderstorms at around 8pm. While the storms are set to end by 10pm, rain will continue into the early hours of the morning, according to the forecast.
- Minehead’s highest temperature is forecasted to be 34 degrees. Thunderstorms are set to begin at around 9pm and will continue intermittently until around 1am.
- After peaking at 35 degrees, Dulverton is set for rain at around 7pm with thunderstorms around an hour later. Storms are forecasted until around 1am.
- Chard is set for 36 degree heat at 2pm but thunderstorms are expected at 8pm until 10pm, and then again at 12am.
- Yeovil is set for three hours of 37 degree heat from 2pm onwards. Rain could begin by 8pm but no storms are forecasted.
- Frome is set for highs of 37 degrees today at around 3pm before the Met Office said it could receive rain by 11pm. There are no storms forecasted.
- Burnham-on-Sea is set for a scorching 38 degree peak at 3pm and 4pm before rain is set for around 8pm. There may be some thunderstorms at 1am.
- Wellington will get 37C heat at 2pm and 3pm. Rain is forecasted for 7pm and storms are expected between 8pm and 10pm, and then between 12am and 1am.
- Glastonbury is set for 38C heat at 3pm and 4pm with rain forecasted at 8pm. No storms are forecasted but rain is set to last until 3am.
