Calls for Justice Intensify After Brutal Murder of Haryanvi Singer Ankit Balyan
Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: The brutal broad-daylight murder of popular Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and the local community. The 32-year-old artist was gunned down outside a gym in Shamli district on Wednesday evening, prompting a high-profile demand for state intervention.
A Brazen Attack
The incident occurred at approximately 6:55 PM near the Aryapuri drain embankment. According to police reports, Balyan had just finished his workout when four unidentified assailants—arriving in two separate vehicles—ambushed him. The attackers showed no hesitation, reportedly firing nearly 18 rounds in a barrage that left the singer with five fatal bullet wounds.
Despite the prompt response from local police stationed nearby, who rushed Balyan to the Community Health Centre, he was declared dead upon arrival. ADG Meerut, Bhanu Bhaskar, confirmed the sequence of events, highlighting the brazen nature of the attack that occurred in a public space.
AICWA Demands Immediate Action
Following the tragedy, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has taken a firm stance, issuing a formal plea to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In an official statement shared via social media, the association condemned the rise of organized crime and the atmosphere of fearlessness among mafia elements in the state.
AICWA president Er. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has formally requested a time-bound, high-level investigation. The association is pressing for the swift identification and arrest of all individuals behind the conspiracy, emphasizing that such violence against artists cannot be tolerated. The family of the late singer, supported by fellow villagers, has also held protests, demanding that the authorities bring the perpetrators to justice immediately.
Gang Ties and Ongoing Investigations
As the investigation intensifies, investigators are probing a potential link to organized crime. Reports indicate that a social media post claiming to be from the Gogi Gang has surfaced, taking responsibility for the murder.
The alleged motive behind the post centers on a song released by Balyan, which reportedly featured themes related to the 2021 killing of gangster Jitendra Gogi inside Delhi’s Rohini Court. Shamli SP NP Singh stated that the police are currently verifying the authenticity of the viral post and investigating whether long-standing disputes or criminal intimidation were the primary catalysts for this cold-blooded execution.
As the investigation continues, the focus remains on dismantling the criminal elements that have turned a local tragedy into a national outcry for safety and accountability.
