Google Introduces AI-Powered “Battery Usage Summaries” for Pixel 10 and 11 Series
Google is continuing to lean into generative AI to enhance the user experience on its flagship hardware, rolling out a new feature for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 series: “Battery usage summaries.” This tool aims to demystify complex power consumption data by translating technical statistics into plain, conversational natural language.
The feature, which arrives via an update to the device’s AI Core, fundamentally changes how users interact with their device’s energy metrics. Instead of forcing users to pore over dense charts and granular background process logs, the new interface sits at the top of the Battery usage page, offering an immediate, personalized overview of how the phone’s energy has been spent.
How It Works
According to a Google support document, the feature works by synthesizing data points gathered in the background. Specifically, the AI performs three primary functions:
