GTA 6 Leaks Could Be Over As Leaker Cashes Out Memecoin

The Grand Theft Auto VI Leak Grift: How ‘Cyberleek’ Capitalized on Chaos

For over a week, the gaming community has been gripped by a series of unauthorized clips purportedly from Grand Theft Auto VI. However, the leaks were less about community information sharing and more about a calculated financial scheme. The individual or group known as “Cyberleek” turned the highly anticipated footage into a vehicle for a memecoin, eventually cashing out with roughly $250,000 as the project appears to reach its conclusion.

A Calculated Crypto Play

Throughout the release of 15 unauthorized video clips, the leaker systematically watermarked their footage with desperate pleas for viewers to purchase $CYBERLEEK, a memecoin created specifically to profit off the hype.

According to a detailed analysis by GTAForums user Vice Cit, the scam avoided the tropes of a traditional “rug pull.” Instead of simply dumping a massive reserve of tokens—which would have alerted wary investors early—Cyberleek opted for a more sophisticated approach. By “burning” 270 million tokens, they created an illusion of long-term commitment and stability. This move allowed the scammers to accumulate a quarter of a million dollars in profit through transaction fees, capitalizing on the frenzy generated by every new drip-fed leak.

The scheme worked with ruthless efficiency. At its peak, $CYBERLEEK reached a valuation of $0.034, boasting a market cap of over $23 million. As of today, the coin has plummeted by approximately 86 percent, currently hovering below $0.005.

Leaving the Bag Holders Behind

The timing of the cash-out—which occurred in the hours leading up to the official Grand Theft Auto VI reveal on Netflix—suggests that the leaker recognized the window for their GTA 6 leaks was closing.

Vice Cit traced the funds to various digital wallets, including the privacy-centric platform CCE.Cash, complicating efforts to track the final destination of the stolen capital. While $250,000 is a significant payday, industry experts and legal observers note that the trail of transactions, combined with the aggressive nature of the solicitation, has likely drawn the attention of Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. Given the high-profile nature of the intellectual property involved, authorities may find the necessary evidence to pursue those responsible through subpoenas and financial tracking.

Questionable Origins

Beyond the financial grift, the leaks themselves have raised questions about the source material. Cyberleek claimed to possess a recent build of the game, yet the footage released was curiously limited. Viewers were treated to repetitive cutscenes from the game’s prologue rather than substantive gameplay, mission details, or footage of the protagonist, Lucia.

The strategy suggests that the leaker had only limited or tester-level access to the code, rather than the full game as claimed. Their final messages to the community—which incongruously attempted to mix sympathy for overworked Rockstar developers with aggressive demands for “support” via token trading—revealed the desperate nature of the endeavor.

With the Netflix reveal now approaching, the $CYBERLEEK saga appears to be over. While the scammers walk away with a quarter-million dollars, the investors left holding worthless tokens serve as a stark reminder of the risks associated with hype-driven cryptocurrency projects tied to the gaming industry.
